JSC Shortlists 35 Candidates for the Position of Judge of the Court of Appeal

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has completed the shortlisting stage for two major judicial recruitment processes — Judges of the Court of Appeal and Judges of the Environment and Land Court (ELC).

A. Recruitment of Judges of the Court of Appeal (15 Positions)

Following an advertisement published on June 9, 2025, for 15 vacancies, the JSC received 94 applications by the deadline of July 8, 2025.

After reviewing applications for completeness and compliance with the Sixth Schedule of the Judicial Service Act, 35 candidates were shortlisted for interviews.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has released the full list of applicants and shortlisted candidates for the position of Judge of the Court of Appeal of Kenya.

The recruitment process follows the advertisement published on June 9, 2025, inviting applications for fifteen (15) vacancies in the Court of Appeal. By the closing date of July 7, 2025, the Commission had received 94 applications.

After reviewing all submissions for completeness and compliance with the criteria outlined in the advertisement, the JSC has shortlisted 35 candidates for interviews.

The Commission has announced that interview dates for the shortlisted candidates will be communicated in due course.

Members of the public are invited to submit, in writing, any information relevant to the suitability or otherwise of the shortlisted candidates. Submissions will be treated with strict confidentiality, and the JSC may invite members of the public who provide information for further clarification.
