JOB DETAILS:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong drive to establish and lead the QA function within our organization. This function will initially sit within the Operations Strategy team but will later evolve into a key function within the Operations department. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to take charge and lead initiatives, developing a comprehensive QA framework that aligns with departmental goals while fostering innovation and adaptability. Strong analytical skills and a passion for creating impactful quality initiatives are essential for enhancing our organizational effectiveness.
What You Will Do
Develop and Implement the QA function:
• Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to align QA strategies with departmental goals.
• Research industry best practices and current trends in quality assurance to inform strategy development.
• Design integrated systems that automate and standardize data collection, ensuring seamless scalability.
• Define and document QA processes, SOPs, and methodologies, conduct training sessions and ensure they are easily accessible to the team.
Data Analysis And Reporting
• Collect and analyze data related to the implementation and performance of the EIDU program.
• Utilize advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Metabase or similar) to generate real-time reports highlighting areas requiring immediate attention.
• Prepare and present periodic reports, including visualizations (e.g., charts or dashboards) to share findings and insights with stakeholders.
Quality Standards And Metrics
• Develop and refine quality standards and KPIs in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Align KPIs with organizational growth and quality objectives to ensure measurable progress.
• Monitor adherence to established quality standards by conducting regular audits and reviews.
• Report on KPI performance to assess the effectiveness of QA initiatives, adjusting as necessary for continual improvement.
Process Improvement
• Conduct process reviews and gather feedback from team members and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitate cross-department workshops to co-develop solutions for recurring quality issues.
Additional Activities:
• Collaboration: Actively partner with various departments to integrate quality considerations across functions. Work closely with leadership to embed quality assurance practices into overall operational strategies and objectives.
• Proactive Escalation: Develop and maintain an escalation framework for red flags, ensuring timely leadership intervention.
• Problem-Solving: Actively participate in troubleshooting issues related to quality and support teams in addressing areas of improvement
• Documentation for Scalability: Create comprehensive documentation for QA processes to support scalability and knowledge transfer.
What You Should Bring
• You are aligned with EIDU’s mission and seek to have a positive impact in the world.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of work experience in quality assurance, supply chain management, operations management or other related fields.
• Preferably 2-4 years in a team leadership role (managerial or supervisory role), with experience fostering a culture of quality, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree is a bonus.
• Track record of high performance and delivery of results.
• A proven track record of successfully establishing processes, SOPs, and methodologies across various functions from the ground up.
• Proficiency in designing data collection systems and utilizing simple analytics tools to identify trends and risks
• Ability to proactively identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimize quality-related disruptions.
• Exceptional communication skills to present findings, including red flags, to leadership in a clear and actionable manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, enabling you to inspire teams and drive initiatives.
• Ability to work in a startup environment, navigating complex and fast-changing challenges with agility and resourcefulness
• Work experience in East Africa or a similar environment
